As a young black woman, it is important because we are at a higher risk of developing cervical cancer than any other race. Cervical cancer has touched very close to home so I know how important these things are. I’m grateful for the technology of today that affords us the opportunity for screening, especially as black women. Early detection is our best defense. I call on my elected officials to support and continue to afford women access to the pap and HPV co-test, especially in the minority communities. I will be tagging them to help in the fight against cervical cancer.
