My mom always taught me the importance of women’s health and how important it is for me to keep up with all of my gynecological exams. Cervical cancer was the #1 cancer killer of women prior to the invention of the Pap test and now it’s #15. Every hour 1 woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with cervical cancer, and the Pap test and the Pap and HPV co-test are recognized as the most successful methods for early detection and treatment. I cannot stress enough how important it is for every woman to get their checkups. This is a personal and sensitive topic for me because my great grandmother died of cervical cancer many years ago and I was diagnosed and treated for HPV about 11 years ago.
